WiFi Troubleshooting & Network Repair in the Outer Banks
Slow or unreliable WiFi does not always mean you need a faster internet plan. We troubleshoot the entire path—from ISP handoff and gateway to switches, cabling, access points and client devices—to identify the real bottleneck.
When speed tests look good but WiFi feels slow
Throughput is only one measurement. Latency, packet loss, DNS response, interference, overloaded radios, weak uplinks and client behavior can all make applications hesitate or disconnect. Testing several parts of the network provides a much clearer picture than one speed-test result.
Dead zones and weak coverage
Signal problems can come from distance, building materials, access-point placement, transmit power or poorly planned mesh links. We evaluate where coverage is needed and whether access points should be moved, added or wired differently.
Random disconnects and buffering
Intermittent problems often require logs, repeated measurements and isolation testing. We look at gateway stability, switch links, cabling, wireless conditions and upstream internet behavior to narrow down the failure domain.
Old or unsupported equipment
A router or access point may still turn on while no longer receiving updates or providing enough capacity. We can identify equipment that is end-of-life, overloaded or incompatible with the requirements of the property.
Repair first, replace when justified
Replacing everything can be expensive and may not solve a cabling or ISP problem. Our goal is to identify the fault, explain the options and make upgrades where they provide a clear benefit.
