OBX WiFi • Installation experience
Outer Banks WiFi & Network Projects
Hotel WiFi rebuilds, guest-network separation and connections between buildings. Our property network work includes Kitty Hawk and Hatteras.
Three kinds of work we handle
These examples describe the installation and troubleshooting work we carry out. Each property needs its own assessment: room layout, existing cables, power, occupancy and the internet connection all affect the design.
New Cat6 cabling, access points and switching for a property-wide refresh.
Repair existing guest WiFi and give office systems a separate network.
Connect separate structures where a new cable route is impractical or expensive.
01 • Hotel infrastructure
Rebuilding hotel WiFi from the cabling up
Our hotel work includes complete WiFi replacements, installing new access points and running new Cat6 cabling. The scope can include the gateway, PoE switching and the connections that carry traffic back from each access point.
A rebuild should start with the rooms and shared spaces that need service, rather than an access-point count alone. For a comparable project, we review cable routes, equipment locations, PoE requirements and access to occupied areas before agreeing on the installation plan.
Hardware used across our network projects includes the UniFi UDM Pro, Pro Max 24 PoE and Pro Max 16 PoE switches, Flex 2.5G PoE switching and U7-Pro access points. Equipment is selected for the requirements of each site.

02 • Existing-network improvements
Fixing guest WiFi and separating office systems
We work on existing guest networks as well as new installations. That includes troubleshooting unreliable WiFi and separating guest access from the office network.
For a similar property, the assessment covers how guests connect, which office devices must communicate and which services need access across network boundaries. Separate network names alone are not enough: VLANs and firewall rules need to enforce the intended separation.
Before changing a working network, we discuss the systems that must remain available and the work window. The handoff should explain the guest connection, administrative ownership and the next step if a problem returns.

03 • Multi-building properties
Connecting buildings without a new cable route
Our building-connectivity work includes the UniFi UBB Building Bridge. Wireless links can be considered where running a cable between structures is not possible or would make the project too expensive.
A bridge connects the networks at each end; the second building may still need its own switch and access points. The design therefore considers the complete path to the rooms and devices that need service.
For a proposed link, we assess the path between buildings, mounting locations, obstructions, power and the capacity required. A wireless bridge is not automatically suitable for every property. We can also discuss cabling and fiber options where a physical route is practical.

What to send for a comparable project
- The town, property type and number of floors or buildings.
- The rooms, outdoor areas or devices that need a better connection.
- Existing gateway, switch and access-point models, if known.
- Whether new cable routes are available and who coordinates site access.
- Preferred timing, occupancy constraints and what must stay online.
Do not send passwords or guest information through the inquiry form. Any site assessment, equipment selection, charges and support arrangements are agreed for the specific project.
